Bulacan State University (BulSU) is a state-funded institution of higher learning established in 1904 and converted into a university in 1993 by virtue of Republic Act 7665. The University in mandated to provide higher professional/technical and special instruction for special purpose and to promote research and extension services, advanced studies and extension services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in Engineering, Architecture, Education, Art and Science, Fine Arts, Information Technology, Technical courses, Commerce, Agriculture, Forestry, Medicine, Law, Public Administration, Fishery, Leather Technology and other courses as circumstance warrants. The University today offers degree programs in the fields of Engineering, Industrial Technology, Arts and Science, Education, Architecture, Fine Arts, Information Technology, Law, Business and Management, Public Administration and Health care.

The University shall provide higher professional, technical and special instruction for special purposes and promote research and extension services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Fishery, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Law, Medicine, Public Administration, Technical and other fields as may be relevant. Bustos Campus - The Bulacan State University-Bustos (BulSU Bustos) is the biggest satellite campuses in the university. For almost quarter of a century, BSUB has metamorphosed of the center of vocational and technical courses of a breeding ground of future educators and industrial technologist and as a feeder school of engineering
Meneses Campus - The Bulacan State University came into being as an intermediate school known as Bulacan Trade School, founded in 1904 by virtue of Legislative Act passed by the Philippine Commission in 1901. It initially offered specialization in woodworking furniture, and cabinet making.
Sarmiento Campus - "Great things starts from small begginings." In 1998, Cong. Angelito M. Sarmiento donated a 2-hectare lot in Kaypian, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan to the Bulacan State University that shall serve as an extension campus of the University.
As the gateway to the University, the Admissions Office sees to it that thousands of applicants who wish to study in BulSU are properly screend and when qualified for admission, enrolled in courses which match their academic performnace and potential. The BulSU Admission Test that the Office administers, ensures that qualifiers meet the stringent and admission standards of the University.
The Admissions Office evaluates the credentials of all applicants for admission to determine their qualifications to take the Univesity entrance examinations. It administers the Bulacan State University Admission Test (BSUAT) on all applicants for enrollment to the different academic programs and submits the list of qualified applicants to the Office of the President for approval. The Admissions Office constantly coordinates with the different academic units on all matters pertaining to the student admissions. It likewise conducts information campaigns to inform the public of the curricular programs and offerings of the University.
