Master of Science Course in Medical Imaging
Welcome to the Postgraduate Programme in Medical Imaging. The course is run within the Division of Medical Physics at the University of Leeds and will allow you to benefit from exposure to a range of clinical imaging techniques with teaching from lecturers who are expert in their clinical use. The MSc is designed not only for recent graduates preparing for a career in medical imaging, but also for medical students with in interest in this area opting to take this course as an intercalated programme. Medical Imaging impinges on virtually every facet of clinical practice and is one of the key elements in diagnosis, monitoring, and in some cases guiding therapy. Knowledge of the appropriateness and limitations of the various techniques for imaging is an important skill for all clinicians irrespective of which field they ultimately wish to specialise in. The MSc Medical Imaging aims to cover all aspects of medical imaging, from the basic physics involved, in different modalities, image formation, pattern recognition and applications within the field of Radiology, it combines the key themes of understanding how medical images are formed and appreciating what images reveal in the clinical context.
