The accreditation process will answer the following questions:<br>¥ How to pave the ground to meet the international standards?<br>¥ How to teach its goal, which is the training of good students and qualified doctor of tomorrow?<br><br><br>Brief history of Kabul Medical University<br><br><br>As the first institution of higher education in the country, it was established in 1932 as a faculty within the structure of Kabul University.<br>In 1980, it was upgraded to Abu Ali Ibn Sina State Medical Institute that consisted of three faculties of curative, pediatrics and Stomatology.<br>In 2004 with the completion of the required standards, it was promoted to Kabul Medical University.<br><br><br>In 2006 the Nursing Faculty was established under the Kabul Medical University.<br>In 2010 Faculty of Public Health replaced the former pediatric faculty.<br>In 2012 faculty of Allied Health Science in view of the urgent need within the university structure was founded. The faculty has two departments namely the medical technology department and anesthesia department.<br><br><br>History<br>Foundation of faculty of medicine and its affiliation with Turkish higher education system since 1932 till 1945:<br><br>At the beginning the faculty was located in Darlaman, later it was moved to Habibiya (current Aisha Durani High school). The main building of the medical faculty was built inside Kabul University currently used by Islamic studies faculty (Sharyat). Dr. Rafiqi Baig from the friendly country Turkey was appointed as the first Chairman of the scientific institute followed by hiring of professor Dr. Hassan Rashad as the president of the medical faculty. And finally Professor Dr. Zahedi Big was appointed for this position. <br> <br><br>Under a memorandum of understanding, the charges of the faculty were handed over to France till 1955.
